The weather may still be chilly outside, but the tulips are starting to push up through the snow and the birds are chirping again.  That means Spring is in the air!  And like many of you, that means that it’s time to start spring cleaning.  The team wants to share just a few tips to keep your spaces looking their best at all times.

When dusting, everyone remembers to clean the decor and the shelves and the furniture, but don’t forget about your lampshades.  Lampshades can be a magnet for dust and allergens.  An easy way to clean them is with a lint roller.  Use the sticky side over the shades and get rid all of that dirt and dust.

Also, remember to clean your air vents.  This one is easier than you think.  Just get the air in the can you use to clean your keyboard and blast all of the grime right out to let the fresh air circulate

See that dust all over your painting?  Well here’s an interesting tip.  Rub a half a bagel over your artwork and it will lift all that dust and lint that settled in the brushstrokes!

Someone with muddy shoes on your carpet?  To get a stubborn muddy stain out of your carpet.  Put a soft damp cloth over the area and run a hot iron over it.  The heat and the moisture should release the stain and you can vacuum it all up!

Looking for a great daily countertop cleaner?  Marble, Granite, Quartz and Quartize can all be cleaned with simple mild soap and warm water using a microfiber cloth.  No need for an expensive daily spray!

Don’t forget about your closets.  A small box of baking soda in an inconspicuous place in your closet can keep odors out of your clothes for up to a year!

Speaking of closets, old houses often have tiny closets or no closets at all. Sometimes it’s best just to eliminate a small closet and create beautiful built in wardrobes instead! Add LED lighting and lots of shelves for your favorite shoes and bags’ to utilize the space, which is always important when cleaning up.

And talk about great use of space… this small bedroom has multiple functions. An office, a workout space and a guest room. We created the space we needed by adding a Murphy bed for when guests stay. This particular Queen sized murphy bed has built in USB outlets and LED lights built in, so no nightstand required!
