As summer 2022 is winding down, here are some design trends we are incorporating into our projects. As with any trend, you can take it or leave it. Design is all about creating an emotion and feeling. If these trends call to you, we’ve included some simple ways to incorporate them in your home.

Creative Use Of Paint

Everyone knows the easiest way to refresh a space is with a fresh coat of paint. But have you considered using a bold and vibrant color on your trim or ceiling? Painting the trim the same color as the walls but in a high gloss sheen is a great way to bring some sophistication to your space. Don’t forget the fifth wall, the ceiling! Ceilings do not need to be white! A shade lighter than your walls and trim create a cozy space and lets the color completely envelope you.

Mother Nature Rocks

The use of natural materials continues to be a crowd pleaser. Open cane webbing on backs of chairs is everywhere and we love it! It’s fresh and not fussy. Natural and manmade stone is popular, from a fireplace surround to coasters and picture frames. It’s a great way to bring in a grounding element to your space. And there is nothing more beautiful than one of mother nature’s creations.

It's Easy Being Green

We are seeing green everywhere. While blue is still popular and one of our faves, green is a close second. It’s so nice to move away from gray everything to rooms with some depth and personality. In fact, we love dark green so much, we are using it all over our Vermont cottage, and even painting the kitchen cabinets a dark forest green. We will be sure to share pictures of the finished product!

Image

Curves & Scallops

Furniture and lighting lines are trending much softer. You will be seeing an explosion of curved furniture and scalloped design all over. These silhouettes are a great way to break up the harsh lines of a room. According to the Wall Street Journal, the rhythmic curves are not only easy on the eye but emotionally soothing. Have some fun and add these charming details to your home!

These are just a few of the design trends we are seeing now. How will you incorporate these into your home? Let us help you!
