Here are some great ways to refresh your design outlook for 2023.
One of our favorite design trends is upcycling, or recycling vintage furniture. It’s the perfect way to add a unique piece to your home. Using funky, vintage pieces are a great way to create a bold statement while being environmentally friendly. Upcycling is not just for casegoods, why not reupholster your favorite chair with a stain resistant fabric in a fresh new pattern! It’s also a great way to mix eras and styles, which creates a layered, curated look versus a cold, cookie-cutter catalog look!
Lead with your heart! If you love an item, then we will find a space for it! Life is too short for boring design! If you love to travel, display a special souvenir, or frame a picture from your recent trip. Showcasing items that you love gives style and soul to your space.
Pattern and color are back! Another big design trend for 2023 is the continued use of bold colors and patterns. Rich jewel tones are elegant and even edgy, while mixing patterns is on trend! Laundry is a fact of life, but laundry rooms do not have to be boring! A laundry room is another small space that offers great design opportunities. Adding fun wallpaper or tiles will make you smile while doing your laundry. In one of our projects right on the Atlantic ocean, we used colorful wallpaper showcasing vintage bikini babes on the beach, a soft green-blue tile on the floor, with a pink chandelier on the ceiling. We completed the look with framed, vintage beach posters and created a whimsical yet chic laundry room. Our client smiles every time she does laundry, nothing better than that!
